BEIJING, Jan. 19 , according to foreign media reports, the EU 18 that will take a more severe sanction Syria , President Bashar al-Assad to step down to facilitate classification .

EU diplomats said the EU foreign ministers at the meeting by the proposed new sanctions on Syria , there will be 22 individuals and eight companies have been blacklisted .

Up to now , Syria has been included in the EU sanctions blacklist of about 120 individuals and the company’s assets were frozen. Prior to the European Union said it would ban trade of Syria ‘s long-term financial support and government loans , but does not include food and medicine. EU companies will be prohibited from engaging in the Syrian government bond trading , prohibit Syrian banks to open branches in the EU or the European Investment Bank .

Meanwhile, the sanctions also include a ban on the export to Syria of any oil and gas related equipment and technologies , the EU ‘s major companies will not invest in Syria .
